We are currently in week 4 of our Handmade Christmas challenge, and the task? Put a wreath upon the door. I have a very sweet wreath of berry sprays and a funky metal ribbon that I’ve used for years, but I wanted to challenge myself to make something different this season. My Christmas theme is mercury glass, so I thought about a wreath assembled from vintage ornaments. However, every time I spotted a pinecone wreath, I just found myself drawn to it. A few that I HEART…
So with a little help from some spray paint, a spool of wire and my glue gun, I put together this. I could have made it a bit fuller, but I opted to keep it simple. I also love the fact that it doesn’t just scream CHRISTMAS ONLY; I can put it up now and it will graciously carry me through Thanksgiving and Christmas.
Pretty wreath. I didn’t have one on my door last year, but I need to change that! Thank you for sharing with us at The Crafty Corner. I hope to see you tomorrow (Wednesday at 6 am EST) at the next party!
Thanks so much! I haven’t actually put one up this year. Preoccupied with other Christmas crafts!
This is a lovely wreath. I will be hunting for extra pine cones on my dog walks.
I get more crafty stuff walking Hadji! I’m going to be sharing your coat hanger advent calendar on my blog this week!
I love this project. It is one that would easily go from fall to winter, just lovely.
Thanks Pamela, and thanks for stopping by!
This has to be the prettiest pine cone wreath I have seen! Just gorgeous!!
Thanks Sam!
Did you use looking glass spray on the pine cones? What a wonderful look!! Thank you for sharing at TaDa Thursday!!!
Thanks Susanne. I did use Looking Glass spray paint, but truthfully, I think a silver metallic paint does an even better job and gives the same effect.
Thanks, and thanks for stopping by my blog!
I love this wreath. It so so beautiful! Thanks for sharing your idea!
This is gorgeous! I’m so with you on being drawn to pine cone wreaths. I have no idea why but they are just so beautiful to me and yours is no exception. I love that it can totally go up on the door now and last right through winter.
Thanks Marie, and thanks for stopping by! I know, the different ways you can arrange a pinecone wreath seem endless.
