Sometimes the things we take for granted are the most precious items we own. For me, it’s my sewing machine. But first, let me give you the backstory. I learned to sew when I was very young; in the seventh grade my father gave me my very own sewing machine – the Genie, made by Singer.

It’s clear to see I was a child of the sixties. But here’s the thing. That machine lasted for more than 30 years. It manufactured everything from Barbie clothes to prom dresses to beautiful lined drapes in my first house.
When I finally replaced my Genie with a more sophisticated machine, I was never completely satisfied. So recently, even though I have a beautifully stocked sewing room of my own, with a professional serger, an embroidery machine, and other bells & whistles, I picked up this inexpensive sewing machine made by the brand that first won my heart. Oh, and another thing – this isn’t a sponsored post. I’m simply letting you in on this awesome find; it’s what I’m digging in June. I’ve yet to have a thread break or a bobbin jam. And if you’re a sewist, then you know this is a big deal. A glass-of-wine-in-my-sewing-room deal. With my new Singer Heavy Duty 4411.
The biggest compliment is a little share – pin the photo below!
