homemade macramé teething rings

There’s no lovelier baby gift than one you make yourself. And these homemade macramé teething rings are some of my favorites.  Made with soft t-shirt yarn and natural wood rings, they have a sweet earthy boho feel.

supplies:

spiral knot teether

Step 1 – Cut two pieces of yarn, each measuring 60″ in length. Tie them onto the wooden teether using Lark’s Head Knots, as shown in photo below.

Step 2 – Create a Half Square Spiral Knot. Continue weaving a chain of these knots until you reach the desired length.

Step 3 – Thread a wooden bead onto the middle two cords. Tie a Square Knot below the bead, using all four cords. Lastly, tie a regular knot with the cords, as shown in the far right photo below. Trim the ends.

Step 1 – This next macramé teether is made with simple Square Knots and added beads. First cut four pieces of yarn, each measuring 50″ in length. Tie them onto the wooden teether using Lark’s Head Knots.

Step 2 – With the first 4 individual cords, make a Square Knot. Make a second one using the last 4 cords.

Step 3 – Thread a wooden bead onto the center 2 cords; below the bead, tie a Square Knot with the center 4 cords. (See photo below.)

Step 4 – Below the Square Knot you just made, make a row of two Alternating Square Knots.

Repeat steps 2 through 4 above.

Complete this teether with a Wrapped Knot at the bottom. Trim ends.

I adore these two little homemade macramé teething rings; they are quick and easy to make. My tutorial for the Double Half Hitch Knot teether (shown below) will come soon!

The biggest compliment is a little share – pin the photo below!
