One week each summer I usually end up on a beautiful beach at the Outer Banks, North Carolina. Loving the sun, listening to the waves, digging the company… but wishing I had brought along a different beach bag. I usually just grab whatever’s handy, and at the end of the week, it’s more of a sand bucket than a beach tote. Not this summer. I’ve rounded up some of the coolest beach towel bag tutorials on the internet, and I’m definitely going to make one. Ahhh… but which one? They are all so clever.
This tutorial by Making it with Danielle is easy to follow. Just grab an oversized beach towel, turn up one side, and sew some sweet pockets to house all your beach-going accessories. Roll it up and you’re ready to go!
If you like organization as well as comfort, this is a clever tutorial from Redfly Creations. All you need is two bath towels, a pillow, a little bit of fabric & some velcro.
This towel from Art Sea Chic caught my eye because it just looked so crisp and comfy. One large beach towel, an old pillow, and 2 yards of fabric is all you need. I also like the idea of a stow-a-way pocket for hiding keys & such, and the little corner pockets are a cool touch.
As usual, I’ve saved my favorite for last. This beach towel from DIY Enthusiasts rolls up into a cute tote with handles and a pocket. You’ll need 2 towels and a pillow. I especially love the boho feel of the fabric scrap border around the towel’s edges. This is the pattern I’m going with. Stay tuned to see how mine turns out!
