This tutorial is for the last of the 3 aprons I made from one Turkish bath towel. Check out the other 2 aprons in this post. Yep, from a single Turkish towel I found on Amazon, I made a full-sized bib apron, an adorable waist apron, and my favorite – this easy boho half apron.

step 1 – hem sides of body
From a Turkish bath towel measuring approximately 39″ x 66″, I first cut pieces to make a bib apron (see this post), then I cut pieces to make a waist apron (see this post). I was left with one piece measuring 17″ x 30″ and a long strip measuring 7″ x 31″ with fringe on one end.
Hem the 2 side edges of the 17″ x 30″ piece, as shown below.
step 2 – attach waistband
I searched through my fabric stash and found two prints that complimented the towel colors perfectly! Using mixed prints also creates the boho vibe I’m seeking. For the waistband, either cut or piece together a strip of contrasting fabric measuring 4″ x 30″. Press in half the long way to make a crease, then pin to the top of the apron body with right sides together and centered. Stitch down.
Flip to back. Fold band in half along crease, right sides together. Stitch from body to the end of the sash, as shown below.
Turn the waistband right-side out and press. Turn under the bottom edge of the waistband and pin to the body, as shown below: stitch down, then top stitch bottom long edge of waist ties. Press.
step 3 – attach pockets
Cut 2 pieces of contrasting fabrics, each measuring 7″ x 12″. Also cut the long strip of toweling to 7″ x 11″, leaving the fringe at bottom.
Stitch the 2 contrasting fabrics together, right sides facing, along one long edge; press seam open. Turn under and hem the bottom edge.
Now, with right sides together, stitch the toweling pocket to the contrasting fabric pockets. Press seam open. Make sure the hemmed bottom lines up evenly with the fringed bottom.
Turn under and hem the top edge and the 2 side edges of the pocket strip. Press.
Before attaching pocket to apron body, hem the bottom edge of the apron bottom with a machine stitch. Then, center pocket on apron about 1.5″ from the bottom edge and stitch down (see red stitching lines in photo below.)
I also made a final stitch (shown below) to create 2 pockets instead of 1 large one.
That’s it! Now enjoy wearing this multi-purpose, very sassy, easy boho half apron!
The biggest compliment is a little share – pin the photo below!
All of these were such a creative idea! I wouldn’t have thought about making these at all. Thanks for sharing such great ideas. #HomeMattersParty
Such a cute apron Wendy.
Thank you for sharing this project at Create, Bake, Grow and Gather this week. I’m delighted to be featuring it at the party this week and pinning too.

So flattered it will be featured. Thanks!
I love how you can use any materials for this and it would still look great! I need a new one as mine is falling apart, I will get looking into some fabrics to put together, amazing!
