If you’ve been following my Handmade Christmas challenge, then you’re probably feeling pretty proud of yourself right now. We’ve completed 6 weeks of holiday preparation so far! We’re only halfway through this challenge, and I feel so organized and productive this year. I thought I’d check in with everyone just to see how things are going at the midway point.
Have you decided on a special Christmas decor theme? Mine is mercury glass, and I’m loving it.
What about your list making? Have you downloaded the free printables for your Christmas card list and gift list? I’ve made my gift list (but haven’t yet started my shopping!)
Did you pull out your tree skirt from last year or did you decide to buy or make a new one? I used the creative challenge for October as my impetus for a new tree skirt. I made a sweet one out of gray felt, with some shabby chic/boho touches. You can check it out here.
What about your front door? If you’re waiting for Thanksgiving to end before pulling out a Christmas wreath, I understand. However, I made one of pinecones sprayed with looking glass paint, and I’m using it for both holidays. Truthfully, it will probably stay up until well past Christmas!
In week 5, we brainstormed about making our own Christmas cards. Did you accept the challenge? I kept mine simple, but I’m still digging them.
Week 6 of this Handmade Christmas challenge covered miniature winter villages. I’ve finished my little rustic Provincial nativity scene, but I’m still working on my city village. Whew. A lot of work, but I want everyone to enjoy it through Thanksgiving as well.
Let’s keep it up folks! Christmas will be here before you know it, and we can all just sit back and enjoy.
I’ve been doing this, too! I’ll have to start following along now that I found your blog š I usually alternate between years when I have more money than time and I try to buy Christmas gifts on Etsy and years when I have more time than money, and I try to make stuff. This is one of the made-by-me years š I’m trying to be organized and ahead of the game but it’s hard!
So glad you stopped by! I just checked out your blog, too. It’s always fun to have another creative soul following along. Stay in touch!
