A Christmas stocking is one of those things that can be (yawn) b-o-r-i-n-g, especially if you buy a traditional store-bought stocking and then use it year…after year…after year. Granted, there are some lovely ones out there for sale, but for a hefty price. But there are also some stockings out there that rock, that literally make my heart beat just a bit faster. And the good news is that many of them are made from recycled items. That’s right, you can make them yourself. And I’ve gathered up the perfect dose of inspiration to get you started. Check these out, upcycled Christmas stockings from ordinary items…

coffee sacks

flannel shirts
blue jeans
And lastly, I’ve rounded up some dreamy upcycled Christmas stockings over which I’m completely obsessing, just to get your creative juices flowing!
I love those coffee sack and flannel shirt creations. And those blue jeans are very fashionable. Really want a real pair of shoes like that 🙂 Wonderful suggestions Wendy!
Thanks and thanks for stopping by!
Ooh what a great set of ideas! Thanks for including our sweater stockings!
You are so welcome. I just love them!
These are all freeking gorgeous ! I can’t decide which are my favourites. I like the sweater ones, the denim ones and the flannel ones and of course the Antropologie ones are as always gorgeous. I feel inspired to make my own, with some pom-pom trim.
thanks! I’m leaving for Florida Friday to spend our first Christmas in our new “snowbird” condo there, so I’ll start my holiday decorating then. I’m getting inspired, too, but will be keeping it fairly simple this year. I do want to make stockings, though!
