my french twist – june craft club reveals

pendant light from xrays - my french twist

Despite the beaches calling our names, we still managed to have a fun-filled craft club this month. Our craft challenge was to finish a project already started, and that certainly convicts all of us crafters! We had some interesting reveals, including an apron made from old blue jeans and store-bought drapes reworked with beautiful shirring. However, I’m most proud of the project I shared (sorry, no humility here). I made a hanging light pendant from human x-rays! My son just received his certification as an EMT, so it seemed fitting to gift it to his new apartment. You can read about it here.

Did you know the word originates from the french word decouper, which means to cut out or cut from something? Sometimes the simplest processes are the most fun. One of the gals decoupaged a light switch cover with fabric and came up with this. (Taken with a cell phone so the light isn’t the best. It is actually mounted on a woven fabric and then framed!)
