october 2015 craft challenge

October craft challeng with My French Twist

Fall is here, folks. Kiddos are returning to school. Moms are feeling inspired to organize closets and clean their homes. And I’m scouring through Pinterest for sweet little knitting projects and indoor crafts to keep me busy when Jack Frost arrives. So it only seems fitting that the creative challenge for October will usher in Fall with some ingenuity. There are actually not one craft challenge but two. You can select one or dive in and do them both!

#1 FOOTBALL

Make something… anything… that has to do with football. Yes, yes, it can have a big ‘ole football appliqued on it, if you like to keep things literal. Or can relate to football in a subtler way. Something to wear to football games, something to use at tailgating parties… use your imagination!

#2 FELT

I’m kind of cheating here. With the Handmade Christmas Challenge series I’m about to launch, my mind is spinning with so many projects I want to make for the holidays. And felt would work beautifully for those ideas I’m hatching. Aside from my selfish motive, let me say this about felt. It is such a lovely medium, with so much more potential than we give it credit for. When we think of felt, we think of children’s crafts, but take a peek at some projects I found on the internet – all made with felt.

You have until the end of October to finish the craft challenge, and please send me photos of what you come up with! At the end of September, I’ll share the results from our current challenge, Got Heart.  Happy crafting and Happy Fall.
