Only one more week to go in this One Room Challenge before the reveal of my guest / sewing room, and I’m so excited for you to see it. You have to understand, I’ve been known to secretly unwrap my Christmas presents early then re-wrap them. I’m not good at keeping happy secrets, and this new room of mine is just that. Happy. So for now I’ll just throw out some teasers to pique your interest, along with some terrific sources I’ve found for these precious finds.

I have this desk in our Florida beach condo, and I love it so much, I bought another one for this room. The lines are clean and modern, it’s super sturdy, and it’s only $300 from World Market.
I’ve had this chair for several years, but I still adore it. Comfy, swivels, modern… love it!

As I shared in week 3, when I was planning my sewing area, Ikea came to the rescue. These wonderful tabletop, legs and drawer unit made the perfect sewing station.
I also found this sweet chair at Ikea, and I recovered the seat with vintage fabric to match my window treatment.
And of course, the addition of this pegboard is my favorite! Yep, Ikea.
creature comforts
As multi-functional as this room is, let’s not forget it is also my guest room. And although I love having my own play space, I also love having a comfortable oasis to offer my guests.
I fell in love with this mid century style platform bed from Scandinavian Designs – the Bolig bed. My mind said to be frugal, but my fingers reached for my MasterCard. So I splurged. The room is spacious, so I even bought a queen size.
To be perfectly honest, I have no idea where my husband bought the TV. When he asked if I’d like to have a television for my sewing room, I just jumped on it. Yep, even had it mounted on the wall to take up less space. Queen size bed, a comfy mattress, remote control, and Netflix. What more could a guest want?
Be sure to check back next week to see all these elements pulled together. Plus I have a few sweet surprises! Also make sure to visit all the other participants in this One Room Challenge. A MasterCard is only one piece of the magic; tons of sweat and creativity go into these awe-inspiring rooms!
