What appears to Rachel as a possible clue in a neighborhood murder ends up spiraling her into a world of regret and deceit, as well as a journey of self-discovery. It is well written, and the portrait Hawkins paints of her main character is a realistic one sure to make Rachel a topic of heated discussion on book club night.
