Page turner. If you like suspense, Paula Hawkins’ debut novel The Girl on the Train is the book for you. It has been described as “a gripping down-the-rabbit-hole thriller,” “highly addictive,” and “the next Gone Girl.” All true. From the moment you turn the first page, you’ll want to forego all your plans for the day, just to stay engrossed in the world of Rachel and Megan and Anna.

What appears to Rachel as a possible clue in a neighborhood murder ends up spiraling her into a world of regret and deceit, as well as a journey of self-discovery. It is well written, and the portrait Hawkins paints of her main character is a realistic one sure to make Rachel a topic of heated discussion on book club night.

Page turner. Read it. The Girl on the Train.
