The grocery store I patronize is quaint. That’s code for not fancy, not new, not an international marketplace with endless aisles and exotic varieties of lettuce. So while my husband shops at the newer one nearby, I still frequent my old school market. Because of their flowers. What it lacks in gourmet spices, it makes up for with fresh, fragrant flowers spilling from galvanized buckets tucked away in a forgotten corner. I always find beautiful bouquets, huge hydrangea blossoms, and lots of green fillers. Just take a look at this rustic & romantic tablescape I made this weekend for a relaxed summer dinner party.

I made tablecloths from black and white mattress ticking, so I would have a matching one on the patio table. Then I added two wooden live edge shelves from World Market (planning to mount them on a wall one day!) In the meantime, they added the perfect rustic touch to the table. I then added my Kroger roses to mason jars, all we all know nothing makes a romantic tablescape more than roses. The only thing simpler than my table decor was perhaps my menu – grilled steaks, scalloped potatoes, and fresh green beans… paired with a chilled rosé.
But oh how lovely.
The biggest compliment is a little share – pin the photo below!
