Welcome to My French Twist. Really folks, cyberspace is filled with crafty DIY blogs. Do we really need another one? Before answering that, ponder this… some sweet Anthropologie inspired embroidery designs…a Bohemian shift dress with pug embroidery details…a very cool hanging light fixture made from human X-rays (OK, that one’s a bit creepy, I know) My head is spinning with so many ideas, many of them a bit off-beat and all of them shamefully original.
For the past 7 years I owned a small factory and kept busy designing and producing handmade gifts for women, home and baby. My products landed in some of the most adorable upscale shops throughout the US, including Pottery Barn and Ballard Designs. Having sold my business last year, I’m ready to start creating again, but this time for ME. So join me in this year of creating just for the love of it. A little sewing, a little embroidery, a little knitting, and I might even throw in a broken tiled mosaic with my children’s baby teeth making an appearance!
Every Friday I’ll be revealing a completed project. Why Fridays? Read my etymology page to learn why. Every artist has his own twist on creating. Mine’s a little French and sometimes a little freaky, but I promise it will be fun. Once again, welcome to My French Twist.
