I’ve been crazy busy these past few weeks unpacking boxes and setting up home at a new address. In all the chaos, though, I’ve run across some products that I just LOVE. These items are too good to keep to myself, so here you go. Here’s what I’m digging in June…

Digz gardening gloves – These are not only cute but lightweight and breathable. I don’t think I’ll ever buy a different brand of gardening gloves again!
Faux banana plant – I confess, I’m adding a few faux plants to my new digs, but please don’t tell! Silk plants go against my core aesthetic, but I’ve researched new and improved plastic plants that are changing my mind. Toss a few of these in with some real plants, and no one will ever know the difference. I recently purchased a banana plant from World Market, and I’m loving it.
Grassworx doormats – Not a sexy product, I know. But Don Aslett, in his book Make Your House do the Housework, claims that a plastic astro turf doormat is the best choice for outside entrances. Opt for this over a designer mat, as it is proven to reduce the amount of dust and dirt tracked into the house more than any other type of mat. No kidding. I’ve been using his suggestion for years now, and I swear by it. I sometimes have trouble finding the right size and shade in stores, but the Grassworx brand on Amazon sells a taupe shade I love and a large size that does the trick.
Make Your House Do the Housework – This book, by Don Aslett, was first published in 1986, but it is so chock full of trustworthy advice, its popularity has not waned. In fact, an updated version was published in 2006. I first read it years ago as a newlywed, but I re-read it recently and quickly remembered why it made such a lasting impact on me. It is filled with common-sense advice, suggestions and tricks to lesson your housework load. LOVE THIS BOOK.
Spice liners – Get ready for this. These little foam drawer liner strips have revolutionized spice organization. They are inexpensive, they can be cut to size, and they are EFFECTIVE. Just take a look at my spice drawer in my new home. Alphabetized, yes.
